Sherilynn is a licensed Mental Health Counselor and a National Certified Counselor. She enjoys working with children, adults and families. Sherilynn has been working with HCEC for over 30 years and is a provider for most of Hawaii’s private insurance carriers. She is past president of the Hawaii Counselors Association. Sherilynn received the American Mental Health Counselor’s Association Award as Mental Health Counselor of the year.
JULIE RAY COHEN, CSAC, LMFT.
Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Certified Substance Abuse Counselor
Julie is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Certified Substance Abuse Counselor at HCEC. She is experienced in working with couples, families and individuals, as well as severely mentally ill clients. Julie provides assessments and treatment for mental health, substance abuse, and anger management as well as parenting classes. Julie enjoys assisting clients in detaching from habits that no longer serve them and guiding to the health within them.
TRACY TAGACA, LMHC
Licensed Mental Health Counselor.
Tracy was born and raised on the Island of Oahu where she was a licensed teacher for eleven years. Currently, she lives on the Big Island working as a school psychologist for the Department of Education for the past ten years. Tracy holds three Master’s degree in Education, Clinical Psychology and Marriage and Family Therapy. She is a Hawaii Licensed Mental Health Counselor.
EDWARD D. BIEDA, PSY.D.
Edward is a licensed psychologist specializing in clinical and forensic psychology. He provides individual, family and group counseling. He has worked extensively within the justice system in Hawaii, California, and Virginia, and provides a wide range of assessments, including substance abuse, anger management, parenting, and personality assessments. Dr. Bieda is a provider for most of Hawaii’s insurance carriers.

Marriage & Family Therapist Associate, Certified Substance Abuse Counselor
Brandy is a marriage and family therapist associate and substance abuse counselor that enjoys working with the military and their families. She has been working with HCEC since 2017. Brandy earned her B.S. at Eastern Kentucky University and her M.A. in Marriage and Family Therapy with a concentration in Military Family Therapy from Northcentral University. Currently, Brandy is pursuing a Ph.D. in Marriage and Family Therapy at Northcentral University.
TRACY ARAUJO, LMFT
Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
Tracy is a Hawaii-licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. She graduated from Chaminade University in 2013 and joined the HCEC staff in 2014. Tracy works with individuals, couples, and families in both the Kailua and Aiea offices. She enjoys helping people learn to live in the moment and to be free of stress and unhappiness. Born and raised on the Island of Oahu, Tracy is the mother of 3 and grandmother of 10. She recently retired from the USPS where she was a postal carrier in Kailua.

Brittany is a marriage and family therapist associate, a certified vinyasa yoga teacher and a mother of two. Her clinical experience entails work with individuals, couples, and families. Brittany’s work with clients incorporates her passion that individuals are not solely physical or spiritual beings but a masterpiece of the two. Brittany earned her B.A. at The University of North Carolina, Greensboro and her M.A. in Marriage and Family Therapy from Northcentral University.

Marikka Zavas, BA
Marikka is a graduate student interning at Hawaii Counseling and Education Center while working on her M.A. in Marriage and Family Therapy from Northcentral University. Marikka earned her B.A. in Psychology with a minor in Japanese Studies from University of Hawaii at Hilo. Her clinical experience comprises of youth, couples, individuals and families. Her goal with each client is to remind them of their innate health and that they are the creators of their own reality.
Jason Donaldson, BA
Jason is a student at Northcentral University studying as a Marriage and Family Therapist. He graduated from the University of Hawai'i at Hilo with a B.A. in psychology. His growing specialization is working with adolescents and young men while also being experienced working with all genders in group and individual settings. He is passionate about spirituality, nutrition, martial arts and connecting clients to their innate health.
